Darango

Darango was born in Durban, South Africa, in 1973. After a friend dropped a guitar at his home in 1990 for no apparent reason, Darango began his musical journey.

After a 19 year affair with the instrument, Darango released his debut album "Baobab Dream" in February 2009.

The album is packed with 14 varied songs written between 1994 and 2009. Largely a singer songwriter project the songs are rooted in acoustic and slide guitars with spare sprinklings of harmonica and electric guitar. Baobab dream is a very personal production and marks Darango's first foray into the public with self penned music. "This is my stepping stone into the world of creative musical expression. Although I feel an adolescent at times in this new world hopefully that comes through as a freshness and honesty in my music."
